In what's become a running theme this season, the San Diego Cavers gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lincoln 55-20 at home. With San Diego ahead 30-9 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
San Diego's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mackenzie Nitzel, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Nitzel is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last 14 games she's played. Lara Saucedo was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
The win got San Diego back to even at 11-11. As for Lincoln, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-19.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Diego's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. As for Lincoln, they and the Pointers will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
