Carson Lagor was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nelson Lara, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Nuview Bridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Academy for Academic Excellence posted their closest win since April 1st on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Twentynine Palms, sneaking past 4-3.
Bryson Lilly made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Lilly was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Academy for Academic Excellence let Nathan Rudd and Keegan Layton run wild. Rudd went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Layton went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Those three hits gave Layton a new career-high. Aiden Carmona was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Nuview Bridge's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-10. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Academy for Academic Excellence, their record is now 15-9.
