The Ripon Christian Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ripon Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
On Tuesday, things could have been worse for Ripon Christian, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-46 loss to Riverbank. Ripon Christian has not had much luck with Riverbank recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Maddie Yonker put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 22 points along with five rebounds and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Van der hoek, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Ripon's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 50-33 to Hughson. While losing is never fun, Ripon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 768th, while Hughson is ranked 247th).
Ripon Christian's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Ripon, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season.
Ripon Christian won a match that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in January, slipping by Ripon 28-27. Will Ripon Christian repeat their success, or does Ripon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
