Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mt. Eden). They blew past the Tennyson Lancers 34-0 on Friday. With that victory, the Monarchs brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Mateo Romo made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Mt. Eden is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-8 otherwise. Romo was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with six RBI, four runs, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave him a new career-high.

The Monarchs are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Tennyson, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Arroyo at 4:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
