Basketball Recap: Tehachapi Piles Up the Points Against South

Tehachapi won the last time they faced South and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Tehachapi Warriors took their contest with ease, bagging a 53-25 victory over the South Spartans. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 23 points or more this season.

Tehachapi got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Koree Rodden out in front who posted nine points along with five assists and five steals. Rodden has been hot, having posted four or more steals the last five times she's played. Addison Smith was another key player, putting up 16 points and five boards.

Tehachapi smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in eight consecutive matchups.

Tehachapi's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.4 points per game. As for South, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tehachapi will head out to square off against East Bakersfield at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Tehachapi is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.4 points per game this season.
