Edgewood hasn't had much luck against Ganesha recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Lions will challenge the Giants at 3:30 p.m. The game will give Edgewood their first taste of in-conference action this season.
Edgewood lost a heartbreaker the last time they played El Monte, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's matchup. Edgewood's pitcher stepped up to hand El Monte a 15-0 shutout on Tuesday. Edgewood's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Noah Ramirez made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Omar Chavez was excellent, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Edgewood is 2-1 when Chavez posts two or more runs, but 0-4 otherwise. Jacob Mayo also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Edgewood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as El Monte didn't got any.
Meanwhile, Ganesha put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against Mission Viejo. That's two games straight that the Giants have won by just one run.
Ganesha's record is now 4-0. As for Edgewood, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-5.
Edgewood might still be hurting after the 17-0 defeat they got from Ganesha in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
