The Pacheco Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Mountain House, falling 68-25. Pacheco was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-14.
Despite the defeat, Pacheco saw an underclassman step up: Jeanette Ortiz scored two points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
It was another big night for Jariah Indalecio, who scored 18 points along with seven steals for Mountain House. Indalecio has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Niara Mangrum, who scored 11 points along with two blocks.
Pacheco has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season. As for Mountain House, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 18-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pacheco will challenge Beyer at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pacheco is coming into the game with four straight losses on the road, meaning Beyer will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. As for Mountain House, they will face off against Ceres at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain House has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
