The Blackhawk Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Central Valley Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Blackhawk will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Blackhawk put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season last Monday. They claimed a resounding 42-14 victory over Beaver on the road. Given Blackhawk's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while Beaver is ranked 403rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Alena Fusetti continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with two steals. She has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Piper Romigh, who scored five points along with seven steals and five rebounds.
Central Valley suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Monday. They took a serious blow against Moon Area, falling 59-31. Central Valley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Blackhawk pushed their record up to 13-2 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 43 points. As for Central Valley, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Blackhawk against Central Valley when the teams last played on January 3rd as the squad secured a 66-18 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Blackhawk since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
