The Central Dragons lost against the Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The matchup between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Central falling 62-45. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for them in their matchups with Bellwood-Antis: they've now lost five in a row.
Bellwood-Antis found their leader in underclassman Lilly Gerwert, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and seven blocks. Gerwert hasn't dropped below two blocks for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Hammond, who scored 15 points.
Central now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Bellwood-Antis, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-5.
Central will be playing at home against Bald Eagle Area at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bald Eagle Area will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 511th, while Central is ranked 247th). As for Bellwood-Antis, they will head out on the road to square off against Bishop Guilfoyle at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop Guilfoyle will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak alive.
