Encina Prep's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maraia Rokosiga, who scored eight points.
Encina Prep bumped their record down to 3-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.3 points per game. As for Delta, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 10-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Encina Prep will take on Woodland Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Woodland Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Encina Prep in California (Woodland Christian is ranked 485th, while Encina Prep is ranked 1269th). As for Delta, they will head out on the road to face off against Forest Lake Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Julia Nguyen and Ayren Rapp.
