Sonoma Academy got a massive performance out of Sam Tyko, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave Tyko a new career-high. Brodie Castaneda was another key player, going 2-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI.
Sonoma Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Tomales came tearing into Tuesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Wildcats get on the board and left with a 1-0 win.
Sonoma Academy pushed their record up to 10-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Tomales, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Both Sonoma Academy and Tomales just can't seem to miss. The Coyotes have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Tomales struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Sonoma Academy's way against Tomales in their previous meeting back in April, as Sonoma Academy made off with a 10-0 victory. Do the Coyotes have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Braves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
