It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose  50-16, which was the final score in Santa Catalina's's tilt against St. Francis on Tuesday. Santa Catalina was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  24-4.
 St. Francis got their  victory on the backs of several key players, but it was  Maya Calfee out in front who  scored 17 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which  Calfee has scored at least 25% of St. Francis' points. Another player making a difference was  Emily Raich, who  scored 12 points.
 This is  the second loss in a row for Santa Catalina and  nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for St. Francis, the  victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
 Santa Catalina will look to defend their home court  on Thursday against Rancho San Juan at 7:00  p.m. Rancho San Juan has insisted on making their lastfour contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-2 during that stretch of close contests. As for St. Francis, they will head out on the road to face off against Soquel at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
