The Twelve Bridges Raging Rhinos will challenge the Placer Hillmen at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Twelve Bridges put up the most runs they have all season on Tuesday. They fell just short of River Valley by a score of 15-14. The Raging Rhinos just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.
Lexi Bright stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Davis, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Placer hadn't done well against Roseville recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Hillmen blew past the Tigers 12-4. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Hillmen as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Ever WileyPearson made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up four earned runs off nine hits. WileyPearson was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Paige Denniston, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 4-for-5. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Myah Denny, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Placer kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
The victory got Placer back to even at 4-4. As for Twelve Bridges, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
