Environmental Charter is 8-2 against Shalhevet since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The White Tigers will host the Firehawks at 3:00 p.m. Environmental Charter will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Last Monday, Environmental Charter needed a bit of extra time to put away Animo Leadership. They had just enough and edged out the Aztec Eagles 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the White Tigers have posted since April 26, 2024.
The team relied heavily on Kevin Ituarte, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Leanos, who scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-5.
Environmental Charter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Animo Leadership only posted a batting average of .300.
The home team had won the previous six meetings between Shalhevet and Milken, and Milken kept the tradition alive. The Firehawks lost 11-1 to the Wildcats on Monday. The Firehawks haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Shalhevet saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ari Elad, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Environmental Charter's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Shalhevet, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
Shalhevet's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Environmental Charter hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .360. It's a different story for Shalhevet, though, as they've only averaged .238. Will they be able to contain Environmental Charter's hitters?
Environmental Charter came out on top in a nail-biter against Shalhevet in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. Will the White Tigers repeat their success, or do the Firehawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
