Steele proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by five) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Open Door Christian Patriots 1-0. The win was familiar territory for Steele, who have now won three contests in a row.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Benjamin Thompson, who's now up to four this season.

Steele's victory bumped their record up to 7-2-2. As for Open Door Christian, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Steele will welcome Avon at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Open Door Christian, they will be playing at home against Wellington at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
