The Franklin County Seahawks lost against the Chipley Tigers two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Franklin County fell 55-46 to the Tigers. Franklin County has struggled against the Tigers recently, as their game on Monday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Ethan Kembro and Sadiq Jones certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Kembro scored 13 points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Jones scored 12 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lonnie O'neal, who scored two points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
It was another big night for Albert McKinnie, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks for Chipley. Kyler Bryant was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
Franklin County dropped their record down to 13-11 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Chipley, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin County will take on the Baby Rattlers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. FAMU DRS has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15. As for Chipley, they will be playing at home against the Blue Devils at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
