The Pacific Bay Christian Eagles struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Monday (the Summit Shasta Black Bears were 34% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. Pacific Bay Christian had to suffer through a rough 80-13 loss at the hands of Summit Shasta. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pacific Bay Christian in their matchups with Summit Shasta: they've now lost seven in a row.
Shahana Andrews was Pacific Bay Christian's leading scorer, having posted four points.
Summit Shasta was led to victory by Alexis Cornejo and Niesha Ramirez. Cornejo scored 19 points along with nine steals and eight assists, while Ramirez dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. Cornejo has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby Tang, who scored 12 points.
Pacific Bay Christian's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 10.0 points per game. As for Summit Shasta, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Coincidentally, Pacific Bay Christian and Summit Shasta will both be playing Pescadero the next time they take the court. Summit Shasta will head out to face Pescadero at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Pacific Bay Christian will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
