The Valley Forge Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their seventh straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 62-36 loss at the hands of Normandy. Valley Forge has struggled against Normandy recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Valley Forge saw an underclassman step up: Gracie Kercher scored 12 points.
Lindsay Meriwether was the offensive standout of the game as she scored ten points along with nine rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ziley Minich, who scored 19 points along with two steals.
Valley Forge's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-11. As for Normandy, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Valley Forge will be playing in front of their home fans against Cloverleaf at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Normandy, they will head out on the road to face off against Steele at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Steele presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Normandy in Ohio (Steele is ranked 182nd, while Normandy is ranked 437th).
