Softball Recap: Woodward Academy Has No Trouble Against Shiloh

Woodward Academy won the last time they faced Shiloh and things went their way on Tuesday too. The War Eagles blew past the Generals 18-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the War Eagles.

Cymone Woodfaulk made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Woodfaulk was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Rion King was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Taylor Dixon, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Woodward Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shiloh only posted an OBP of .292.

Woodward Academy picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-6. As for Shiloh, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Woodward Academy will take on Decatur at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the War Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Shiloh, they will square off against Tri-Cities at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
