The Gunn Titans lost against the Mountain View Spartans back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Gunn took a serious blow against Mountain View, falling 61-30. While losing is never fun, Gunn can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 804th, while Mountain View is ranked 303rd).
Alana Hernandez continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mountain View, going 6 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 4 assists. Hernandez hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Mikayla Kim was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.
Gunn has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Mountain View, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.
Gunn will head out on the road to challenge Saratoga at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gunn is facing Saratoga at the right time seeing as Saratoga is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Mountain View, they will be playing at home against Cupertino at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mountain View is coming into the contest with nine straight wins at home, meaning Cupertino will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory.
