The Azusa Aztecs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Alta Loma, falling 58-30.
Azusa got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Lilliana Maldonado and
Karina Nunez, who each put up six points. Maldonado held things down on the boards with nine rebounds.
Azusa now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Alta Loma, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
Azusa is on the road again on Saturday and play against Eisenhower at 10:00 a.m. on December 16th. Eisenhower presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Azusa in California (Eisenhower is ranked 493rd, while Azusa is ranked 998th). Alta Loma won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Los Altos at 11:30 a.m. on December 16th. Los Altos is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
