Kayden McHenry made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.
In other pitching news, Eli Garret looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
Back at the plate, Central Catholic got a massive performance out of Hudson Walker, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. AJ Miligi was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Central Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Righetti made sure to put some runs up on the board against Arroyo Grande on Friday. The Warriors had just enough and edged out the Eagles 11-10. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by just one run.
The team relied heavily on Blake Thayer, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jacob McMillan, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Central Catholic's win was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Righetti, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Central Catholic hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. However, it's not like Righetti struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
