Despite the loss, Bayard Rustin had strong showings from Jenna Kraft, who scored 11 points, and Sara Betchyk, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her.
Meanwhile, Academy Park's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. Their rough 51-26 defeat to Upper Moreland might stick with them for a while.
This is the second loss in a row for Bayard Rustin and nudges their season record down to 5-2. As for Academy Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
Everything came up roses for Bayard Rustin against Academy Park in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 69-30 victory. With Bayard Rustin ahead 46-9 at the half, the match was all but over already.
