The Jefferson Democrats were the 44-37 winner over the Diego Rivera Huskies when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Jefferson was beaten by Diego Rivera 49-18 on Friday. Jefferson has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
It was another big night for Brianna Collins , who dropped a triple-double on 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 steals for Diego Rivera. That makes it six consecutive games in which Collins has scored at least 25% of Diego Rivera's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Desiree Aguillon , who scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds and 7 steals.
Jefferson now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Diego Rivera, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jefferson will take on Bishop Conaty-Loretto at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Bishop Conaty-Loretto will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Diego Rivera, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Los Angeles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Los Angeles comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
