Bishop McDevitt waltzed into their contest on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They claimed a resounding 48-21 victory over the Central Dauphin Rams. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Crusaders' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Rams are ranked 120th).
Nazir Jones-Davis produced another solid effort rushing for 91 yards and three touchdowns. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Ishmael Palmer also helped out with an impressive 125 receiving yards.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Bishop McDevitt, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jerome Larue Jr., who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Bishop McDevitt's defense and their four sacks. Leading the way was Zach Brown with three.
Loss or not, Central Dauphin got some senior leadership from Peyton Wylie and Jadyn Johnson. Wylie rushed for 62 yards and a pair of scores, while Johnson rushed for 63 yards and two TDs.
Bishop McDevitt's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Central Dauphin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
