The Saint Francis Lancers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 63-42 defeat at the hands of St. Ignatius College Preparatory. Saint Francis was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Sacha Touma and Paige Spencer certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Touma scored eight points along with eight rebounds, while Spencer scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maia Jimenez, who scored six points.
Saint Francis' loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for St. Ignatius College Preparatory, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-7.
Saint Francis will be playing in front of their home fans against the Fightin' Irish at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Ignatius College Preparatory will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Presentation comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
