The York Prep Patriots's game on Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They skirted past Cheraw 48-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win York Prep has posted since December 12, 2023.
York Prep had a senior duo take command as Payton Munsey dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds and Gracie Robinson scored 22 points along with eight rebounds.
York Prep pushed their record up to 8-8 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Cheraw, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.
York Prep will head out on the road to challenge North Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Central comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Cheraw won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Legion Collegiate Academy at 2:45 p.m. on January 20th.
