If the Coast Union Broncos were riding high off their 27-0 takedown of the Maricopa Indians last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Coast Union took a serious blow against King City on Thursday, falling 64-6. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Coast Union in their matchups with King City: they've now lost four in a row.
Malaya Carrillo went supernova for King City, scoring 26 points along with six steals and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carrillo has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amity Hearne, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Coast Union's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for King City, their victory bumped their record up to 5-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coast Union will take on Valley Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. King City won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Notre Dame is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
