The Benicia Panthers will take on the Foothill Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Benicia 3.8, Foothill 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Benicia is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Redwood by a score of 9-5. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.
Benicia got a great performance from Dominic Louro as he pitched six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits.
At the plate, Myles Cooper was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Carlos Largaespada, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Foothill got the win against Liberty on Tuesday by a conclusive 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won 15 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Take Sato-Kreis tossed a big game, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Foothill got a big performance out of Austin Rost, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI. Dylan Souza was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs.
Foothill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty only posted an OBP of .267.
Foothill is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Benicia, they pushed their record up to 17-8 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
