The McCool Junction Mustangs won the last time they faced the High Plains Storm, and things went their way on Thursday too. McCool Junction simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat High Plains 61-24 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-10.
McKenna Yates had a dynamite game for McCool Junction, going 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 5 assists. The game was Yates' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Briann Stutzman, who scored 17 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for McCool Junction and bumps their season record up to 2-1. As for High Plains, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
McCool Junction won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Sutton at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th. Sutton is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for High Plains, they will head out on the road to face off against Nebraska Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
