New Prague (Minn.) lost to
Mankato West (Mankato, Minn.), 21-10.
After taking the lead on a
Kyle Stepka touchdown pass to
Jason Kazlauskas, the Trojans went into halftime with a 10-7 lead. The Scarlets took the lead for good with a defensive touchdown in the third quarter.
Will Claussen was the top performer for Mankato West. He threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown.
New Prague's Kazlauskas played well. The senior tight end caught one touchdown.
NP's lone touchdown came on a 40-yard pass from Stepka to Kazlauskas in the first quarter.
MW went into the matchup giving up only 17.8 points per game.
The Mankato school also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 60-14.
With the win the Scarlets extended their winning streak to three games.
