Bloomfield took a 39-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings on Friday. That's two games in a row now that Bloomfield has lost by exactly nine points.
Bloomfield's loss came despite strong showings from Madison Abbenhaus and Tenly Gilsdorf. Abbenhaus scored 12 points, while Gilsdorf scored ten points.
Wausa's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taylor Dawson led the charge by scoring ten points along with seven steals. Dawson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Hadley Vanness, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Bloomfield has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Wausa, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-13.
Bloomfield will be playing at home against the Warriors on Tuesday. As for Wausa, they will head out on the road to challenge the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Osmond/Randolph is ranked 244th, while the Vikings are ranked 249th).
