The Maplewood Tigers's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Franklin Knights at 7:15 p.m. on January 15th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Maplewood was able to grind out a solid victory over Saegertown, taking the game 42-30. Given Maplewood's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 199th, while Saegertown is ranked 541st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Franklin can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They walked away with a 48-39 win over Slippery Rock.
Maplewood pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Franklin, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-5.
Everything went Maplewood's way against Franklin when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as Maplewood made off with a 46-24 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Maplewood since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
