The Lick-Wilmerding Tigers have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 51-41 to University on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lick-Wilmerding in their matchups with University: they've now lost five in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Lick-Wilmerding lost, one person who can't be blamed is Hailey Moy. Despite the final result, she scored 18 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauryn Lacap, who scored 11 points.
Lick-Wilmerding's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for University, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 20-5.
Lick-Wilmerding is on the road again on Thursday and plays University at 8:00 p.m. on February 8th. Hopefully University is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in California (they are ranked 103rd, while Lick-Wilmerding is ranked 301st). As for University, they will take on Lick-Wilmerding at 8:00 p.m. Hopefully Lick-Wilmerding focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
