The Livingston Wolves will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Hughson Huskies at 7:00 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Livingston has struggled recently with eight defeats in a row, while Hughson will arrive with three straight wins.
Livingston suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Friday. They were the victim of a tough 59-38 defeat at the hands of Riverbank. While losing is never fun, Livingston can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 849th, while Riverbank is ranked 182nd).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Isabella Zazueta, who scored 20 points. That was a full 52.6% of Livingston's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasandra Soria, who scored four points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Hughson beat Ripon Christian 41-35 on Tuesday.
Livingston has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Hughson, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7.
Livingston might still be hurting after the 56-30 loss they got from Hughson in their previous meeting on January 4th. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hughson's Madi Duron, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. Now that Livingston knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
