With a playoff game on the line, the Samueli Academy Firewolves rose to the challenge on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 44-25 victory over the Trojans. The win was familiar territory for Samueli Academy who now have four in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Samueli Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maya Gonzales, who scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gonzales has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Leilanie Rufino, who scored ten points.
Samueli Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Silver Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.
Samueli Academy will face off against Temecula Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Temecula Prep is coming into the contest with five straight wins on the road, so Samueli Academy is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. Silver Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
