There's no place like home for the Cottonwood Colts, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They snuck past Murray with a 48-42 victory on Friday. For Cottonwood, this counts as revenge for the 38-32 defeat Murray walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2021.
Alivia Hutton was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ciel Budge, who scored eight points.
Murray lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Charlotte Scherbel, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Mia Auclaire, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Cottonwood now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Murray, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cottonwood will take on Tooele at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Tooele focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday. As for Murray, they will be playing at home against Stansbury at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Stansbury is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
