Loyalton is 1-9 against Quincy since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Loyalton Grizzlies will head out on the road to challenge the Quincy Trojans at 5:00 p.m. Loyalton's defense has only allowed 29.4 points per game this season, so Quincy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
Last Monday, Loyalton lost to Portola at home by a decisive 47-28 margin. Loyalton has not had much luck with Portola recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Sophie Holland, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds. Ellie Weaver was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
In what's become a running theme this season, Quincy gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They breezed by Chester at home to the tune of 59-32. The victory was nothing new for Quincy as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Quincy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jenna Peay, who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Peay has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Shelby Nussle, who scored 15 points.
Loyalton's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-8. As for Quincy, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.
Loyalton came up short against Quincy when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 40-27. Can Loyalton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
