After flying high against the Bethlehem Center Bulldogs last Thursday, the Frazier Commodores came back down to earth. Frazier took a 54-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bentworth on Monday. Frazier was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bentworth apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Frazier lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Malana Burton, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Burton has scored all season. Allie Yauch was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Among those leading the charge was Aubrie Logan, who scored 22 points. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Amber Sallee, who scored 14 points.
Frazier has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Bentworth, their victory bumped their record up to 5-12.
Frazier will be playing at home against Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bentworth, they will head out on the road to challenge Chartiers-Houston at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Chartiers-Houston presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bentworth in Pennsylvania (Chartiers-Houston is ranked 259th, while Bentworth is ranked 632nd).
