The North Saxons will challenge the Millikan Rams at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. North is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
On Friday, North came up short against El Segundo and fell 10-7.
Lucas Blackwood was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Josiah Reed was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, while Millikan put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Jordan. The Rams blew past the Panthers 11-0. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.
Millikan also got a great performance from AJ Nonato as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. What's more, Nonato posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
On the hitting side, Millikan let Shane Walley and Daunte Bell run wild. Walley went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Bell went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one triple. Those three RBI gave Walley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ethan Barrientos, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Millikan has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for North, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.
