The Burroughs Burros will head out on the road to square off against the Highland Bulldogs at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Burroughs is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Burroughs barely beat Bishop Union the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Burroughs put the hurt on Bishop Union with a sharp 10-0 victory on Tuesday. The Burros might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by eight runs or more this season.

Joaquin Vasquez made a splash no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, Dennis Cane was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Jake Maduena also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Burroughs was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Highland came up short against Cajon on Friday, falling 12-3.
Highland saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mateo Dominguez, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Burroughs' record now sits at 6-0. As for Highland, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Burroughs hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .409. However, it's not like Highland struggles in that department as they've averaged .354. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Burroughs was able to grind out a solid win over Highland when the teams last played back in February of 2019, winning 6-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Burroughs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
