After a string of three wins, Marist's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 13-6 to the St. Francis Spartans.
St. Francis' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maeve Murphy, who threw for 146 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 72.7% of her passes. The dominant performance also gave Murphy a new career-high in rushing yards (22). St. Francis also got a significant boost from Allie Sheldon, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 122 yards.
Marist's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for St. Francis, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season.
