The Wood Wildcats's game last Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They took down Rodriguez 50-32. This was payback for Wood, who suffered a 55-54 loss the last time these two teams met.
Wood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Natalia Sanchez out in front who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Mikyah Dixon was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 14 rebounds and two steals.
Wood now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Rodriguez, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Wood will be playing in front of their home fans against Grant at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Grant presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wood in California (Grant is ranked 98th, while Wood is ranked 485th). Rodriguez will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Bethel at 12:00 p.m. on January 13th.
