Union is 2-8 against the Bulldogs since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Union Knights/Damsels will head out on the road to square off against the Redbank Valley Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Union is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
Last Thursday, Union suffered a tough 59-39 defeat at the hands of the Lions. Union was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-15.
Despite their loss, Union saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kya Wetzel, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Ava Strauser was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six blocks.
In what's become a running theme this season, Redbank Valley gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 57-29 victory over Otto-Eldred. The victory was just what Redbank Valley needed coming off of a 71-40 defeat in their prior contest.
Union dropped their record down to 2-15 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Redbank Valley, their win bumped their record up to 14-5.
Union was taken down by the Bulldogs 58-17 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Union was down 37-7.
