Poway and San Marcos are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Poway Titans will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the San Marcos Knights at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Poway is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than San Marcos in California (Poway is ranked 94th, while San Marcos is ranked 407th).
Even though Bonita Vista scored an imposing 68 points on Monday, Poway still came out on top. Poway had just enough and edged Bonita Vista out 71-68. The win was just what Poway needed coming off of a 86-32 loss in their prior matchup.
Katelyn Johnson was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points. Allie Hawkins was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, San Marcos' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 58-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Westview.
Poway's victory bumped their record up to 17-8. As for San Marcos, their defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-15.
Poway strolled past San Marcos when the teams last played two weeks ago by a score of 58-43. Does Poway have another victory up their sleeve, or will San Marcos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
