The Roosevelt Rough Riders's game back in December of 2023 was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Sanger West 69-31 on the road. With that victory, Roosevelt brought their scoring average up to 50.7 points per game.
Leading Roosevelt to victory were Tatiana Ballinger and Nyleigh Gregory. Ballinger scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and three steals, while Gregory scored 27 points. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Taylor Sutherland, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Roosevelt now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Sanger West, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roosevelt is on the road again on Friday and play against Madera South at 6:30 p.m. on January 12th. Madera South is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for Sanger West, they will head out on the road to face off against McLane at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
