The Cumberland Valley Eagles lost against the State College Little Lions back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Cumberland Valley took a 49-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of State College. While losing is never fun, Cumberland Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 348th, while State College is ranked 121st).
Despite the defeat, Cumberland Valley had strong showings from Peyton Basehore, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals, and Sienna Manns, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Basehore has scored all season.
Cumberland Valley's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-11. As for State College, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Cumberland Valley will head out on the road to challenge Altoona at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Altoona will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak. State College won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Harrisburg at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Harrisburg is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
