Even though the Maxwell Panthers have not done well against the Los Molinos Bulldogs recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Maxwell narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Bulldogs 31-29. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Maxwell.
Emma Hendrix continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below 11 rebounds for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Teresita Salazar, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Los Molinos lost, one person who can't be blamed is Natalie Martinez. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Wilson, who scored eight points.
Maxwell is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Los Molinos, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-16.
Maxwell will play host again and welcome the Braves, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hamilton will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Los Molinos, they will head out on the road to face off against the Yellowjackets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Williams comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
