Service is 9-1 against Eagle River since April of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Cougars will host the Wolves at 5:30 p.m. Service is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.5 runs per game this season.
Service is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Chugiak, who was ranked fourth at the time (Service was ranked second). The Cougars blew past the Mustangs 18-4 on Saturday. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Service got a massive performance out of Kegan Lennox, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Lennox a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sage Garsha, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Service always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .650. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Eagle River came up short against West Anchorage on Saturday, falling 19-4. The loss continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.
Tristan Youngblood was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two doubles. Those RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season.
Service's win bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Eagle River, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10-1.
Eagle River's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Service hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .363. It's a different story for Eagle River, though, as they've only averaged .176. Will they be able to contain Service's hitters?
Service got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April against Eagle River by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
