The Exeter Monarchs lost against the Reedley Pirates back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Exeter took a 49-35 bruising from Reedley. Exeter has struggled against Reedley recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Exeter lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Natasha Anguiano, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Anguiano hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Chloe Sparrow, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Exeter's loss dropped their record down to 17-11. As for Reedley, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-10.
Exeter will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Atascadero at 6:00 p.m. on February 14th. Hopefully Exeter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Friday. As for Reedley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Madera at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Reedley is facing Madera at the right time seeing as Madera is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
